Oreo Smores Pudding Bowl Recipes

The very first time my son had pudding he ate it with his hands and fell asleep covered in chocolate while sitting up. I mean totally asleep. Play with his arms, wash his face, take pictures with the flash on and still didn’t budge- ASLEEP. This chocolate nap was a first for us and although he’s a fan of pudding, messy dessert with kids just isn’t always worth the hassle. Seemingly out of the blue he got proficient with a spoon and a whole new of foods opened up to us.

Smores are one of my absolute favorite summer foods and I wanted to share this combo of flavors with the little one, without worrying about the hot melty chocolate and marshmallows. For a quick Sunday night treat, I wanted to make us an Oreo s’mores pudding bowl.

In the time it took the pudding to set a little bit in the fridge I prepped the toppings. I crushed graham crackers and Oreos to add as lines in the bowl in zip lock bags with a rolling pin which made for easy clean up. For the marshmallow, I opted for marshmallow cream because our little guy can’t eat regular marshmallows yet. I warmed it in the microwave a little bit and to my surprise, it spooned into a line pretty easily. Overall it took less than 10 minutes to make this S’more pudding bowl and do a quick soft set in the fridge. I made it much earlier than we needed it but it’s great to know I could pull this together last minute for an easy dessert too.

Aside from the happiness that chocolate and Oreo bring into your life, This smores pudding bowl is awesome because it can be tailored to fit your occasion. It’s a light and fast dessert to serve, which is sometimes exactly what you need after a long day. I also added in whipped topping to make the pudding a little lighter, similar to a mousse texture. If you’re looking for something more decadent a dark chocolate pudding with topping like almonds, white chocolate chips and coconut would also be delicious- get creative! For a family movie night, a Smore pudding bowl bar with extra marshmallows and other fun toppings would also be a fun idea!
